The house consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bath rooms, a utility room, kitchen, dining room and lounge. The spacious bedrooms have built-in closets and the master bedroom has a walk-in closet with plenty of hanging and storage space. The guest bathroom has a large walk in rain shower with a glass block wall and a mahogany vanity with a granite top. The utility room has a large sink, 50 gallon hot water heater plus plumbing and electric for washer and dryer.
The well designed kitchen is made from Santa Maria with a Cabbage bark hardwood counter top and plenty of drawers and cupboard space. The kitchen is well lit with down-lights and under cupboard lights that provide an attractive but practical lighting. The built-in, over the stove microwave also doubles as an extractor hood which vents to the outside to provide a comfortable cooking environment.
The house was designed to maximize natural cooling. All bedrooms and living spaces are located on the east side of the house where they benefit from the prevailing winds, while all bathrooms, utility and the kitchen are located on the downwind side.
Although Belmopan has a relatively low crime rate, security bars and an alarm system have been installed for peace of mind. The attic has been insulated with a radiant barrier foil to keep the house cool and provide over 1000 square feet of additional storage space. There is also a cistern in the attic that provides water supply during emergency situations.
There is a large 140 square feet covered porch at the back of the house which can accommodate two hammocks or a large dining table and the front porch provides shelter at the entrance door. The driveway can accommodate up to four vehicles inside and two parked outside, off the road.
The garden is well established and has several fruit trees, including Mango, Avocado, Peach, Craboo, Almond and several Banana plants. The garden is fenced and has a Hibiscus hedge on either side, a Heliconia hedge at the back and a concrete with pine picket fence at the front to give privacy but allow the breeze to pass through. The natural vegetation keeps the garden and house cool year round. There is also an outdoor shed with power, light and a security alarm installed.
